For decades the experienced team has been providing compassionate care in a setting that truly feels like home—comfortable, familiar, and peaceful. Residents, their relatives, and staff come to feel like family, whether gathering for home-cooked meals around the ample dining room table or relaxing on our spacious outdoor patio, watching the birds, rabbits, deer, and wild turkeys.
We’ve recently remodeled the entire home to make things fresh and inviting.
It’s a point of pride that Amelia Grace has cared for multiple generations within a family. After years of pouring our love into providing an exceptional level of senior care, past residents’ adult children are now trusting us again to care for them.

Ann Shanley
My journey towards owning a residential-style assisted living home was initiated by my parents’ experience. When they reached a point where they could no longer live independently, my siblings and I faced challenges in finding suitable care options. Their decline was sudden, contrasting sharply with their previously active and healthy lifestyle. Witnessing this struggle motivated me to create a solution for other families, offering exceptional care for seniors – your loved ones. I did not want other families to go through what we did. Good care in nice environments often had a 1-year waiting list!
Beyond my professional pursuits, I’m a parent to three grown children. I was a foster parent to six children and adopted special needs twins 20 years ago. I recently welcomed a beloved golden retriever named Quinn. Quinn often accompanies me to Amelia Grace, where he brings joy to both residents and staff. My children also cherish their time spent at Amelia Grace, reconnecting with the elderly and reminiscing about their own grandparents.
I spent 20 years in corporate America with American Express, Bank of America, and Progressive Insurance. After that, I moved to Real Estate with experience in several house renovations. From there, I embarked on a new path in 2017 when I enrolled at The Residential Assisted Living Academy. Since 2019, I’ve been part of the academy’s staff, continually learning and assisting others in their journey. Combining my passion for real estate with a desire to serve others, I, along with my partners Janet Davies and Mark Hutton, converted the existing Amelia Grace Assisted Living to a new and improved version. Together, we’ve crafted a nurturing and secure environment for the elderly in our community.
Mark Hutton
Mark is a Purdue Mechanical Engineer who withdrew from 27 years in the corporate world to pursue real estate full time. He has 12+ years of experience in real estate investing, and with his wife Janet Davies, they own single family, multi-family, apartments, commercial retail, and assisted living properties, and he leads multiple investment groups pursuing multi-family apartment acquisitions. He has rehabbed and flipped and held numerous homes, is managing sponsor/partner/owner in as many as 262 residential units, a 239k sq. ft. commercial property, and limited partner in over 1000 apartment doors.
He and his wife developed a Residential Assisted Living (RAL) home, Mimi’s House, in 2019. They just opened their second Mimi’s House home, are building the third, and are actively developing the 4th and 5th Mimi’s House homes in the Cincinnati area. Mark has hundreds of hours of training by nationally renowned teachers covering a variety of real estate asset classes and strategies. Mark is a Residential Assisted Living Specialist and Memory Care Specialist trained by the RAL Academy, an active Student Success Support Coach for RAL Academy students nationwide, and an instructor for student training events held at the RAL Academy in Phoenix.
Janet Davies
Janet earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, is a Speech Therapist, and has worked in the medical field for 30+ years, primarily with seniors. She co-owned and operated a dental practice and office building, including managing additional office rental spaces. She has 20+ years of experience in real estate, and with her husband Mark Hutton, has developed and operates Residential Assisted Living homes (Mimi’s House) for seniors that first opened in September 2019 in Cincinnati. She operates these homes as Administrator/Director in addition to her real estate investing.
She and her husband and partners have owned up to 262 doors including single-family rental homes, a 4-unit rental property, apartments, and a share of a Hilton Curio resort in Belize. She is managing sponsor/partner/owner in a 40-unit apartment and a 239k sq. ft. commercial space. She has studied under several nationally renowned teachers covering a variety of real estate asset classes and investment strategies. Janet is also a Residential Assisted Living Specialist and Memory Care Specialist trained by the Residential Assisted Living Academy and is an active Support Coach for RAL Academy students across the nation.
